Looking back at level 4 through PPP1 has allowed me to review how far my practice has developed over the course of the year. The opportunity to reflect on how my studio time and critical studies have allowed my practice to develop has highlighted how important i have found it to be professional in the way I work. My consistent attendance has allowed my work to improve drastically and become far more rounded theoretically.
During this project we have also spent time putting together a successful end of year exhibition. This was a fantastic experience in terms of preparing me for future experiences putting on shows, a valuable part of professional practice as it allows your work to be seen by the public. In setting up the exhibition I was able to learn what is involved in showing your work so I am now able to confidently exhibit my work to the public.
Making the video explaining my work has also been a very enjoyable experience. It's also given me the chance to learn to use Premier Pro, a software program that I think could be very useful in my practice in the future. It's also given me the opportunity to think about how I want to come across as an artist. It was quite an interesting experience to consider how much I wanted to give away about myself and my practice.
It was also interesting exploring different creative ways I could demonstrate how my practice works. I eventually elected to use predominantly Boomerang gifs throughout my video. These offered a perfect way of giving my video the sense of repetition and rhythm that my work is currently very focused on. It was thanks to this module that I looked back to my first collaborations project in which I used gifs that i had the idea to use gifs i the video.
Overall PPP1 has been a fantastic opportunity to look back on my past modules and reflect on how my practice has developed and flourished as a result of my work this year.
